The Audrianna suite was the first design that I did for
Hyacinth Mine. When brainstorming, I knew I wanted to do something with
lace. The idea of drawing lace didn't seem like such a daunting task. However, when I started, I realized quickly that it wasn't going to be a
quick project. I struggled between deciding if I wanted the
perfectionist in me to do the drawing or the organic, free form side of
me. Ultimately, the organic side won the battle. As the lace developed, I
loved that not every nook and cranny was exactly the same. The letterpress process only adds
to the rustic feel I was trying to achieve. In order to make the design a little more modern I used a sans serif font for the majority of text. It adds a bit of surprise and interest to the design that calls for attention.
