NATURAL STONE / COLOR PALETTE

The more I work with colors, I'm finding that I really love the more natural colors. Now, that's not to say that I don't love a good coral or serpentine... But there is something that I find so relaxing, calming, and peaceful about soft warm and cool grays. Out with the habitual chocolate browns and in with the lighter gray neutral tones!

Today I'm premiering a few of my favorite photographs from our promotional shoot we did with Kelli Lyn Hunt! I am so excited about these! The goal was to represent the Hyacinth Mine brand as well as myself as a designer. And let me tell you... goal achieved!

and I couldn't be more thrilled! I have been in dire need of photographs to use for social media and future promotional ventures. So, of course, I had to contact Kelli for the job! I love her work! And - she shoots in all film; can you believe? Check out her website to see more of her wonderful photography (she's also a great event stylist). Today we're just showing a preview. INVITATIONS ON PRESS

I recently received images of our invitations on press from our printer! I was shaking with excitement just waiting for them to download! If you're not familiar with letterpress, these pictures will give you a short visual explanation about how it differs from modern digital printing. Besides the organic textures from the press, what I love most about letterpress is that first and foremost it is a craft. The ink is hand mixed, the press is set up, each panel fed and printed one by one. It can take months of training and years of perfecting to get it just right. I love that everything is hand-crafted by a skilled pressman; someone who enjoys printing each panel piece by piece as much as I love designing and receiving them in the mail. If you work with a letterpress it is your passion! With digital printing today, as is the norm, I've never heard someone being sincerely passionate about clicking the print button on a computer screen.

COLOR ME, LEMON

I am sure you all have already noticed that lemon yellow is a very popular color for summer weddings! Yellow is a symbol for happiness, and youth. It is mentally stimulating, and, according to studies, encourages communication. I love using this color for vintage country or modern chic weddings; both very different but work equally as great! Is lemon yellow one of your wedding colors?

I would love to see this Northern Pioneer color palette used for a summer wedding. Out with the vibrant, lively pink, yellow, and green colors - and in with these rad beauties! Usually when couples choose black as a wedding color they pair it with white, gold or hot pink. Ladies, let's add some personality to your event with this stunning combination!
